Xiaomi Motors' YU7 electric SUV is about to be launched, a new single-motor version with a range of 835 kilometers (519 miles). Xiaomi has officially confirmed that the model will be launched in June-July this year, directly challenging competitors such as Tesla Model Y and Xiaopeng G7 in the high-end electric SUV market in China.

The newly registered version is equipped with a single motor with a power of 235 kilowatts and an energy consumption of only 13.3 kWh per 100 kilometers, which is an impressive performance. The vehicle's curb weight remains at 2,315 kilograms, and it achieves good endurance performance while taking into account the range and body size.

In terms of appearance design, YU7 continues the design language of Xiaomi's family, using a closed grille, "water drop headlights" and X-shaped daytime running lights. The upper part of the headlight group adopts a hollow design to optimize airflow. The YU7 has a body size of 4,999×1,996×1,600 mm and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, firmly ranking among the mid-size SUVs. The roof-mounted lidar sensor and hollow spoiler enhance the vehicle's sense of technology.

Spy photos show that the interior adopts a two-tone color scheme of purple and beige, and the floating central control screen and PHUD (panoramic head-up display) system form the core of the user interface. The latter can clearly display information such as navigation and vehicle speed to avoid driver distraction. The dashboard includes a wireless charging panel, a double-opening armrest box and a cup holder, while the electric leg rest and zero-gravity seat (high-end configuration) enhance the comfort of long-distance driving. High-end models will also be equipped with Alcantara fabric steering wheels and carbon fiber interiors.

In terms of charging technology, the Xiaomi YU7 series supports 800V high-voltage fast charging. The single-motor version with a range of 820 kilometers can achieve "5 minutes of charging and a range of 200 kilometers." Although the specific charging parameters of the 835-kilometer version have not yet been announced, the combination of ultra-long battery life and high-voltage fast charging is expected to effectively alleviate battery life anxiety.

From the market perspective, Xiaomi's pricing strategy is still attracting much attention. Referring to the pricing logic of competing products such as Tesla Model Y, Xiaopeng G7, and Xiaomi SU7, the target price of YU7 is expected to be between 250,000 and 350,000 yuan. The car strives to seize the mainstream market share through the combination of "800V+long battery life+smart cockpit". The pre-installed lidar hardware and deep integration with Xiaomi Hyper OS also reserve space for the realization of high-level autonomous driving functions through OTA upgrades in the future.
